Lightning MTS 225 with TIG Package
When first MTS with AC/DC TIG series splashed on the market back in late 2016, it sent our competitors scrambling to come up with something to compete. Now as the MIG,AC/DC TIG, and Stick product from Everlast is in it's third generation, many upgrades to performance and programming have been made to keep the unit. Those familiar with the unit can see from the new bezel, panel layout and the new 5" screen that the unit has radically changed from the previous Lightning Model. The Lighting 225 MTS, alongside its big brother the Lightning 275MTS lead the industry in ingenuity and user oriented features. The Lighting 225 MTS is a 225 Amp unit that excels not only in features, but it also excels in nearly every category. The new one-page design of the LCD screen programming. allows the user to see all the settings at a glance. The user has everything right on the screen, with no scrolling through multiple pages or clumsy hidden menus to wade through. This design also allows easy adjustment of all common parameters in use. The new PowerSET function allows the customer to enter basic operating parameters in MIG, TIG, or Stick mode, and automatically selects the proper Amps and Volts (where applicable) for the user, as well as a few other possible adjustments. This new unit also features a Flux-Core mode for operation with most common types of Flux Core wire (without gas/self shielding). As powerful as the welder is, it is also capable of operating on 120V if the unit needs to be carried to the work. Of course, you'll have reduced output, but you will not suffer for lack of available duty cycle. As far as operating duty cycle at full-tilt 225A output, the TIG function features a duty cycle of 35% on AC or DC. At full 185A output, the stick duty cycle is 35%, with a 60% rating at 160A , which is perfect for most 1/8" and 5/32" electrodes. At the maximum 225 amp output, the MIG side of the machine also features 35% Duty Cycle. That means, for MIG, 1/4" and 5/16" welds are a breeze. Even 3/8" and 1/2" can be easily handled with multiple passes. Add the PowerCart 330 and for a convenient, stacked design. If you choose the stackable cooler option (the PowerCool 400), be sure to order the water-cooled torch package for this welder.
