Thread: Post your best aluminum welds!

  1. Default Post your best aluminum welds!

    All,

I am looking to purchase a Powertig 250EX or better yet an EXT when they become available.

I however haven't seen much for aluminum welding photos by Powertig owners. If you have some nice work please post it up! I am hoping there is some good stuff out there that will help sway me into purchasing a new Everlast Powertig.

I will start by posting a few photos of some work that I have done with a Miller Dynasty 300. Hoping to see some comparable work with Everlast units!

    Best regards,
    Tony R

    Hey Tony,

I don't know if they're as good as what you're looking for, as I consider myself *still* steep on the aluminum TIG learning curve!

Anyhow, a few pics of some recent projects tackled with my Everlast "Super200P". It has been a very capable machine and solid reliable in its 3 year old age.

I know they're not pics from my everlast machine but my HTP intertig 201. I will get some pics of aluminum on my PP256 which is close to what you are looking for, just the machine is at my work getting pushed beyond its limits. So far so good being used from 6am to 9pm for a month straight 7 days a week and still going strong (actually became the replacement backup when the shops dynasty 700 broke).

I just saw this. I myself do not have any pictures, I dunno why, I've done the whole weld soda cans together with my 250ex and it has a lot of power for the heavy stuff. From what I've seen so far the person holding the torch is the big factor on a pretty weld.

Didn't think it was an Everlast.

Nice to see someone knows the benefits of a shiny clean welding table.. Makes a huge difference working on non ferrous stuff. I wipe mine down with Acetone to keep the oils and dirt from transferreing to the work piece. Sure cuts down on the head scratching.

Wow! Some of you guys are freakin talented. Beautiful welding Tony, Jakeru, cdale! I think some of you guys could weld with an 110v extension cord with the end wacked off and a darn coat hanger! Again, awesome.

WOW! After seeing TonyR85 welds I'm ashamed to even post my welds. But you guys can at least get a good laugh.

Remember I'm a structural hand, nowhere near a Tig weldor!

    Hey TonyR85,

    Talk about beautiful welds !
Any chance you could borrow a PP256 and duplicate them ?

Would sure make me feel super good for having ordered one.

    Cheers,
    Rivets

Not my best aluminum welds I've done in a while (or best pics for that matter--cell phone) but these were done with the Everlast PM205, ~8 or 9 on the pedal, 1/8" filler. I've been stuck wrenching more than I have been welding at my new job where as the last one was full on welding/manufacturing.
