Okay, lets clarify some things. I think there is something that I may not have made clear.

The 250EX is remaining essentially unchanged for the near and semi distant future.

The digital units will go into production sometime in January. These units are designated with an additional letter T. I.E. 250 EXT

The 250 DX is DC only and it is going to be available in limited quantities starting in January.

BUT, these units or a example of them will be unveiled at fabtech on Nov. 2.

Thanks Mark.. I just blew the breaker again in the middle of welding. So, as soon as I can unload the Lincoln I'll be placing my order for a 250EX.

Any chance of a retrofit kit? make a older unit go digital? Or will there be a PP256T?

    Any Idea on price?

and not to be a BIG stick in the mud, but I like the current models handle!

Again, the units we have now are not changing. They are fixed and remain the same. No you cannot upgrade. The technology is very different for the digital machines.

So not to beat a dead horse, but when will you know price on the new machines?

I'd hate to have a pp256 as only a plasma cutter..... so will there be a digital multi function machine in the future?

What would rock my world would be a hybrid digital display and knobs! and one single handle like the current machines!

    No,
    Slick,
There aren't any plans for that now. The idea of offering digital machines is to break into the industrial arena and provide a higher end machine for serious commercial customers. The multifunction tig/plasma machines typically do not fit into that demographic right now. True Multi-Process welder do however, and that is the direction the digital units are heading.
