Thread: MTS 225 consumables ?

  1. Default MTS 225 consumables ?

Bought the MTS 225 about a month ago , 1st job was repairing a friends pontoon boat , so overhead aluminum TIG & getting used to my 1st inverter welder , extra work but worked fine in the end .

When ordering they offered a $100 upgrade - cover , nova torch & footpeddle , I went for that .
Issue is the welder had a .023 drive wheel , but the mig torch came with 0.040 tip - so a mismatch for using ?

Want to get setup for mig for steel wire & flux core .
Question is , looking for tips on site , there does not seem to be mig tips typical sizes , only one ?
Or maybe I just could not find ?

Now to learn to use all these adjustments with inverter welders / as compared to old transformer units - just a few adjustments

First, no one uses .023" for the most part. Yes it has it, but that's the realm of cheap transformer welders. .030" will cover almost the same amp range and then some. Use that side. The tip cost really is immaterial since they are less than a buck. We have to source guns separately and to match the maximum output of the welder, and this is the free tip the factory supplies with the guns. We do not make them.

The tips are on the site, and standard sizes. In fact, you can buy those sizes for you gun down at lowe's or home depot...and any welding supplier or even Harbor freight. It's a standard TWECO 11 series tip.

What about have different ends of the welder match - welder / gun , so it can be used ?

If I did not find , a link would be nice ?

Or confirming , only one tip fits ?

There's a number at the top of the page. Call. hit ext 206. They can fix it. But if you order items on the site it compounds the shipping. They'll combine it.

What consumables , etc. can be used with many , but specifically the MTS 225 ?
I've read that using CK torches plug in without modifications ?
Have a small steel / mig project for a neighbor in a couple days , and wondering if the drive wheels also from other brands works - want to see if my local welding supplier has the drive wheels and can get those --- before something being shipped could arrive .
Then some thing like CK systems Flexloc torch for future / hard to reach spots .
Agian really like Everlast being in the market

The dinse should fit, but you need to use the gas/water adapters they have for the quick connects.
