Default How do you make an air-tight weld on an air compressor tank?

Looking for advice on technique to stop a leak on an air compressor tank. I've seen examples of them exploding if done wrong. Any suggestions?

    Don't Do It!...

    Just Replace the tank.

    I second that.

    Don't even try it.

The tank is undoubtedly faulty, internally, probably from pitting due to a failure to drain the moisture out routinely enough.

Take the tank out of service, split it in half and make a BBQ grill or an ornamental planter of some sort.

Haha the BBQ grill sounds like a perfect scrap plan especially since we are headed to summer. Appreciate the help and advice for sure.

Yeah, you don't do it, unless you have a death wish.
