I did understand you. I was simply trying to explain to all those who read that the 2T/4T function can be used in such a way that the torch control shouldn't be needed for many uses.

But the rotary control may be too small. The slider type switch is probably large enough, but there again is the problem...it may be too large and in the way. The "resolution" needed to get fine amperage control will make one quite large.

If you do fabricate your own, Mike should have the ohm readings for the unit. Thats important to keep from burning out your unit.
