Hi Guys, have any of you had or heard of a problem with the gas staying on, wether your using the pedal or the remote switch ?

Yeah,
I have.
And it's sometimes cause by debris in a hose or tank valve getting sucked into a solenoid, causing it to stay open. Welder solenoids are easy to troubleshoot and replace. I swapped one out on my 210EXT, just because I wanted more standardized (NPT) threads to work with at the back of the machine. The new 24V solenoid was about $18 or $20, if I recall correctly, via Amazon.
But, a faulty potensiometer within a foot pedal could undoubtedly do as much too.
Maybe a hose leak at the input to the solenoid, as well.

Gee,
Are you talking the new Everlast unit you just got, or somebody else's unit?
This is the 250EX I just got this month. I spoke with Tech today, they are sending out another solenoid next week. Also just realized my pulse isn’t working on AC or DC.

Gee,
You'll undoubtedly want to send the unit back then, if it's not pulsing on AC and DC.
So, I wouldn't bother fumbling with the solenoid.
Ask them to pick up one way on the shipping to fix the unit (as you're undoubtedly out of the 30-day free shipping period, though not by much).
Or, ask them to just take the unit back, and also ask to upgrade to the 255EXT that you were also considering, and for a quote on what an additional cost for that upgrade and added shipping would be.
Ya, it looks like that what may end up happening, I’ll be talking to them the beginning of next week.

Good,
Yeah, it's best to test the unit immediately, so you've got more time during that 30-day window portion of the Everlast warrantee.
But, I'll bet that Everlast will make you a happy customer, even with this little speed bump in the proverbial road.
Let us all know how it goes, though.
Otherwise, in that recent Tungsten Sharpener thread of mine, I'm giving away my used rotary tool tungsten sharpener.
Which one are you going with ? I looked at Eastwood’s during Spring Carlisle when we hold our Metal work shop. They usually bring a few pieces of equipment to our stage and we demo it for them. They have some nice products, as does Woodward Fab.

Hi Mark, the fan being some what noisy I didn’t realize that my gas was staying one until I happen to see the check ball floating long after I stopped welding. The pulse also seemed to not be working, however tech sent me a picture of where to set the dials, and clearly the pulse started, or was working all the time. They are supposed to be sending out a new solenoid, and that should be here in the next few days.

The pulse readout fluctuates and randomly samples the pulse in the cycle so it doesn't look like anything is working correctly but it is.

Thank you Mark, are you saying the 250EX will display the pulse ? I haven’t been able to watch the read out if it does, however I could put our camera on it as I am welding. Now on the gas staying on, it only randomly sticks on, and I was sent a picture of settings for the front panel, it shows the pre flow off, and the post flow set to low. Now I’ve had both post and pre shut off and the gas solenoid still stayed on. In fact, I’ve shut the entire welder and gas off, waited a minute and turned it back on, and the gas is still running. Not I’m not sure if they are still sending a new solenoid, it’s been better than a week since Everlast was sending it out. I’ll check back in if anything changes.![]()

Yeah,
If another solenoid is coming on a slow boat from China, let me know.
I've still got a perfectly good one I took out of my 210EXT that I could pass along to you.
Of course, if you take out your current solenoid, you may be able to just shake it back and forth to make it stop sticking.
When I put a North American-produced solenoid (about $18, if I recall correctly) into my 210EXT (so I could have more standard threads/fittings), it was a little noisier than the OEM Asian-produced one, though.

Update, I received the solenoid, so I’ll take some time out sometime this week to get it installed.![]()

Thank you Christian, I started to think maybe I should have order a US made solenoid, but let’s see what happens with the one they sent me. I really like my 250EX and I’m sure, not unlike my Miller that there may be bumps along the way. One of my older Millers, I had replaced the magnetic starter a few times, before a friend gave me one from is stock room for there Syncrowave’s and I never had to replace it again. Now he had a half dozen welders running full time, so downtime was not an option.

Yeah,
The OEM ones are quieter than the US one I put on my unit. But it's an apples-to-apples comparison, to me. I just wanted different threads.
The male-to-female fitting on the OEM one was a little delicate though, and I did accidentally break it off the OEM solenoid when removing it with a wrench, as I recall, but did solder it back together, even though it isn't actually in use anymore. So, be careful removing and reinstalling that gas fitting at the back.
Otherwise, here's a clip from Amazon, where solenoids are cheap and easy to find.
