Thread: My 2 year old 211 si won't turn on now

  1. Default My 2 year old 211 si won't turn on now

Hello I have a 211si and I love it! I use it here and there and I was using it this morning to make engine mounts for my jeep. I went to use it in the afternoon and it won't turn on now. Does anyone have any suggestion? I checked the back fuse on the welder, I tested the outlet with my plasma cutter and it works perfectly. I've tried to plug and unplug it but with no success.

Ps here is my project that I desperately need a welder to finish my mounts to mount my 5.9 cummins in my jeep

No lights, nothing? Likely a switch issue, or an issue in your plug.

Thank you for your reply, I was able to contact customer service and after first testing the switch to be fine. The next step was to test the 6 parts on the side for continuity which mine all tested to be around 294 testing the center post with black and the red on each side of the same black piece one at a time(I attached a picture of the 6 black pieces toward the bottom of the pic). Everything checked out so I was told to supply Everlast with my contact info, mailing address, proof of purchase and serial number and they will be shipping me out the two top circuit boards. I noticed a soldered connection that I don't think looks correct but I did not get an email back about it so I assume Everlast is okay with it.

I don't see it. What was your concern?

Sorry I should have described my concern better but this soldered joint with all the black near the black piece. I didn't touch it just noticed it so hopefully its not an issue

It's not the best looking solder joint but it still looks OK. All the holes around it are on the same trace so just check continuity between the solder joint and any of the holes close to it. If you have continuity it's fine. See attachment. Click image for larger version.
