    Do you mean input power or output?

    Yeah,

    Why not just buy one?

    A 25ft extension, with 8g wire, is good for 40amp continuous on a 250 amp unit, which is more than enough for the 251Si:

    Max Inrush ( I1MAX ) Amps:
    @120V: 36A
    @240V: 37A

    Maximum Rated (I1EFF ) Input Amps:
    @120V: 22.8A
    @240V: 23.2A

    How about just buying one?

    This 25ft, 8 gauge wire one is rated for 40 amp draw, which is more than the 251Si needs for inrush and continuous use at maximum amps.

    If you mean welding leads, you can use #2 copper for the ground. For the torch just buy the length torch lead you want.

    Test, this is a test, as I posted a reply to this thread a couple of times before, but got a message that my post has to be approved or moderated first...

    A 25 footer like this can carry more than the inrush and max current of the 251Si, I believe, i.e., 8 gauge wires for around 40 amps.

    Not that I know very much about electricity, so do your own due diligence. But that's probably what I'd do now, if I needed another extension for a welder like that.

    Hey yes your messages went through!!

    That's exactly what I did I found a 20ft piece of 6 gauge wired the plug ins and swapped the original ground to a #2 longer copper ground cable. Things are running smooth. Thanks for the tip

    Gee,

    I guess there was a glitch here, which held my comments over for a few days, till they finally came flooding in.

    OK, mystery solved...

    Not a glitch. This thread was in a moderated section not intended for this subject. Once I moved it to the proper section all your posts became visible. I didn't notice the entire section was moderated when first looking for the problem.

    Thanks, Zoama,

    It seemed a little curious.
