Thread: 210 EXT Triangle Wave In Video Action

  1. Default 210 EXT Triangle Wave In Video Action

    Yeah,

This little video clip of the Triangle Wave was captured as part of larger fun project of mine.

I like the Triangle Wave quite well and don't think I've seen much emphasis on it as a waveform before.

So, I think it might be relevant for some Everlast users or anyone else that might be curious about waveforms.

Cool vid. I have a .060 alum project coming up and it sounds like this wave form might be helpful

Hey, thanks for that nice feedback!

And sorry, if I seemed a little abrupt in that thread of yours on the 200DV. Glad to hear that turned out well.

Yeah, the Tringle wave is a winner for me on thin stuff.

I mean, weren't you the guy sharing with me about putting a radius on stuff to prevent potential cracks? So, on this project, I was pretty vigiliant with making sure no craters were left at bead endings, since this was my first gas tank or vessel for liquid of any kind.

So, what'd you do, trade-in or upgrade somehow?

You're welcome. I was hoping to see that you had one of those cameras specifically for watching welding, but good vid nonetheless.

Good call on the craters. A jewelers loupe has taught me that inside every crater is a crack. Seeing that the 210EXT ramps down to 5 amps as opposed to the 20 of the 200DV, craters should be more manageable.

Don't worry about the other thread. I've run into a few Everlast fans that seem to think that since their machine runs flawless, I must be imagining things. I probably just didn't explain that I didn't expect it to be repaired in 2 weeks, I just wanted someone to acknowledge the problem.

I upgraded. I'd rather not give specifics about it seeing as every situation is different and wouldn't want to set any precedents for Everlast, but I'll just say that I am extremely pleased with Alex and the rest.

    Yeah,

No, I'm not trying to give a TIG welding clinic.

But, Everlast as a product and as company of staff members is pretty cool, I think.

So, you've got access to waveforms, which I hope you'll give your impression of, to us all, as an experienced TIG welder.

I mean, I've been impressed by some of your projects with the 200DV itself.

    Yeah,

You know, with a thread title like this, it would be more fitting to have the arc shots captured on video.

I've heard that it's sometimes a struggle to capture the arc and weld puddle in action without the right camera. But I think ChuckE2009 stated somewhere that he had good luck at one point using a standard welding lid lens somehow.

Maybe I'll get around to trying to rig up a solution for some future use.

Take a decent cell phone and put a large, straight fixed shade on it, and wrap it with a rubber band. Will protect the phone camera and give a good arc shot without getting a lot of stuff in the way.
