Pete, I remember that email, but can't locate it. Care to post up a jpg of what you did, in case anyone might have bought one and not used it yet?

Hi Mark,
From my email.
To All,
I believe this info should help you in the future. I have a new I-Mig 205 and bought a Spool gun for it. After receiving two different spool guns and had neither of them work, I really needed to talk to people in your company.
Well, after much help from “Andrew”, “Ray”, and Mark”, I was able to reconfigure a “new” connector and rewire it, and now the gun works perfect.
Here are the specs I found:
First you need to use an old spool gun made for the I-mig 205. Now, this gun has a female connector, which needs to be changed to a new male connector similar to what is used on an MTS 205 spool gun. Then the wiring needs to be changed as follows.
As per “Ray”, Pin 6 and 7 should be soldered together. Next the red wire of the spool gun goes to pin 5 and the black wire goes to pin 3.
Make sure you “DO NOT” just look at the wiring on the old connector and duplicate it on the new connector, because the “old” connector is numbered “clockwise’ and the “new” connector is numbered “counterclockwise.”
This should fix all the problems other buyers will have if they purchase the new I-mig and a spool gun.
Might be better to indicate what the wires go to than the color. Very often colors in cables can change and sometimes are not even standardized in Chinese factories.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!
lol! was just jumping on to ask same question, kinda figured what was up but, nice to know. Prolly grab 210 next month or so, maybe they'll have guns sorted by then.
