Thread: plasma data for cnc table use

  1. Default plasma data for cnc table use

Any thoughts on putting out cut data manuals for your machines like some other plasma machine producers

I wish they would. It would likely encourage some to purchase an Everlast plasma cutter over some other higher price point brands that do provide that information. Any additional information on using a Everlast plasma cutters on CNC table would be much appreciated. Again it would likely lead to more plasma cutter sales for Everlast.

Speeds and feeds are more dictated by the actual torch and consumables size, than the power supply. Many top tier machine torches have published data available, but those are just guidelines. A lot has to do with your actual setup and the cut quality you are looking for. For some people the speed is all that matters, while for others they will trade speed for a cleaner cut, and still others want to get the longest life from their consumables. You can't get all three. The difference in cut speed can be well over 100% between quality and quantity. Also when running at top speed, even the ambient temp can make a big difference. You can cut a lot faster in the summer in AZ, than you can in the winter in AK. By far the best way to get your configuration dialed in is to program a test cut with an increasing speed, and then decide on what is the acceptable quality for you.

This is one of the reasons I haven't pulled the trigger on the 80. There also doesn't seem to be a lot of data on them from this forum or others.

Maybe this would be a good place for people to post their Data... That might give others a starting point.
