Newbe with PP256 Some questions.

Any help / suggestions will be appreciated.
Older pp 256 ( no gage on front). Using 17 air cooled tourch (no cooler yet) pure argon. Red 3/32 tungston. DCEN. Foot pedal.
1. What settings?
2. Depressing foot pedel does not seem to change "strength" of arc.
3. Even when I set to max amps, arc "strength" does not seem to change
4. At end of weld, removing foot from pedal, Hifreq arc continues.

Make sure you are set to 2T with upslope and downslope set to zero for use with a pedal.
If the HF is going even with no pedal, the switch in your pedal might be stuck. Try the torch switch to confirm. If so there are posts here about how to fix up pedal problems.
