Thread: Ordered my first Everlast

    Default Ordered my first Everlast

Called Mark yesterday and ordered a 2015 Powerplasma 60S. Mark was very helpful and had some great info about the product. After taking my info and verifying stock I was informed that my new unit would ship that same day and that I would receive a tracking number via email.

Later that evening I received my tracking number and should be getting my unit by the 13th. Checking the tracking number this morning it shows that it was picked up and is in transit.

Mark was great to deal with and so far everything has gone smoothly. I'll keep up with this thread and update as I go. Once I get it home I'll make a few videos.

Happy plasma day to me! Received my order late this morning via UPS with NO DAMAGE! verified all parts and pieces were there and did a quick visual inspection. Came with the new IPT-60 torch. I'll get some pics after work.

So far so good. My new pp60s arrived ON TIME with NO DAMAGE. What more can you ask.

Now to get it home and fire that puppy up (pun intended)

    Thanks Mark!

Hooked it up tonight and got to cut some steel. I am very happy with my purchase. Cut some thin stuff like writing with a sharpie. 1/4" & 1/2" like butter. Had a small chunk of 1" that cut ok b u t I'm sure with more practice and a little more air it'll be no problem.
Had some air leaks and a restrictive air dryer so I'll report back when I get that ironed out.

    I'm lovin' it!

Motor Guard M60 is a good dryer. You can get the kit that comes with 3 filters for $70 - $80 dollars if you shop around online. The M30 uses the same filters but has bottom inlet/outlets.

    I'll look into that, thanks

Dry air is about as important to a plasma machine as it is to a paint gun/painter. Dryer the better. Cuts will be cleaner and the consumables will last a lot longer, and less extra load on the unit and torch.

Just ordered the motor guard m100 kit (m60 with 2 extra filters) from http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/moto...00-P24269.aspx for $73.49. Added a small tool I needed and that got me to the free shipping over $75.

You'll need bushings to reduce the inlet/outlet ports unless your lines are 3/4", otherwise it's the same as the M60 which has 1/2" ports. You can dry the filters and reuse them as long as they aren't deteriorating. It's good to have some type of basic filter behind the the MotorGaurd if you're drying and reusing filters to make sure no particles go through your torch. I use the little water separator that comes with the plasma cutter.

Which filter do you have closest to the plasma cutter?

As soon as I get the MG I'll figure out what reducers I need. Thanks for the heads up.

ID:	13008 The little water separator... but I only used that because I had it lying around and it gets the job done. Any cheap particulate filter will work fine.

Got my motor guard m60 yesterday and I'm surprised by how beefy it is. hopefully I'll get it hooked up by the weekend and get some time to cut some steel. The harbor freight $8 desiccant filter was already turning purple after only a little cutting so I may set up a franzinator (sp?) type cooler as well. Something similar to this one I found from http://www.woodworkingtalk.com/ .

One of these days I'm going to get around to building a "franzinator" water trap. Lots of ideas on the web for them.
