Thread: 256 Power Pro Foot Pedal

Default 256 Power Pro Foot Pedal

I've got a 256 multi purpose machine with which I'm generally satisfied. The switch in the foot pedal has gone bad and when I called to order a switch I was told I must purchase a new foot pedal. The switch attaches with two screws so it's not integral to the unit and could be easily serviced. What's up with junking the foot pedal for want of a $5 limit switch? Thanks in advance for suggestions. best regards

Standard parts like that it's just better to get them locally. Since these are made in China, all the components are there, with only complete assemblies shipped here. Any electronics shop should have that switch, or Digikey, Mouser, ebay, etc. That is one of the nice things about these machines, in that most all of the parts are standard items, very little is Everlast specific. Makes them very easy to repair.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

Quick! Get to Radio Shack before they close the last one...

Seriously, it's a simple micro switch that should be pretty easy to find, RS should have a selection, the one near me just closed and let you fill-a-bag with Anything for $10.

This part is a bit specific however I was able to find it online. Purchasing 20 switches for $35 may be preferable to junking the foot pedal but one would think Everlast would stock these for their customer's convenience. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/20pcs...603190904.html

Rather than putting in another cheap Chinese switch, you might want to get a Honeywell or C&K that will probably last the life of the unit. Here is a brief excerpt from the list of probably over 100 parts that would work.

Just like Miller or Lincoln, they stock complete pedals as a plug and play solution. The people that are willing to open up equipment and fix things at the component level, usually have to source the components, too. Yes, you can special order internal parts from Miller, and like me you can wait over 6 months to get a simple inductor, because it was a special Miller only item.

    Cheebster,

I've got tons of microswitches from junked microwave ovens, etc.

If you like, I can check my 256 foot pedal to see if I have a match. Better still can you take a close-up picture of yours?

So if I have a replacement, I'll mail it to you if you like. Gratis.

    Cheers,
