The Makita 9564CV was Larger than the HFT. Not by much.

So why not just get one of the HF ones to just use with the saw adapter. There is a coupon at the moment for $10 and you can never have too many angle grinders.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!
Cool. Use a fence to get a long straight cut.

That looks just like mine that I got from Dewalt about 20 years ago. But I paid $20 for it 20 years ago. I would just get a HF grinder and that way it could stay setup for cutting all the time. Like Rambozo said, you can't have too many grinders. I think I have 5 or six right now and I just pitched 2 in the trash.

Maybe. The Adapter I got wasn't very square. I used my old Stanley framing square and you could see a big gap near the top. All my cuts would have had a bevel on them.
Just came back from Makita. They only do Repairs there. No longer sell Factory Serviced tools. Sigh.
I found a Dewalt 14" Multi Cutter (Refurbished) at Tyler Tool. Decided to give it a try. Just need to remember to Register it with Dewalt for any Warranty Issues. And I use a program called Ebates. So I am getting 3.25% Cash back. Free Shipping. No Tax.

You will like that saw. WAY nicer than an abrasive saw. Just take good care of the blade. Let it come up to speed before entering the work, and don't let it bounce. A little noisy for the basement, but nothing like an abrasive saw, so you can make some cuts inside. Use your good circuit as it will draw a lot of power.

I have 12/2 wiring and a 20A breaker. My father and I put it in years ago. I just added an additional outlet to the other end of my bench. And switched out one of the Single Gang boxes for a Double. With a single outlet. So I have the extra room for the wiring.
Tyler Tool is an Authorized Retailer on both Makita and Dewalt websites. Shouldn't have too much problem with any Warranty Issues.

Hasn't arrived yet. Maybe Tomorrow if UPS doesn't Destroy or Loose it. Like a 27 Gallon Air Compressor. Amazon sent 3 units. 2 arrived damaged. 1 "Out for Delivery" and never showed up.
UPS finally delivered it Late tonight. Haven't had a chance to take it out of the box. Has an Auxiliary Clamp to be used when cutting on the Upstroke. Guess that means the back half of the blade due to the rotation. Its Heavy. Weighs about 62 pounds.
