Power Tig 200DX Dual Voltage Maintenance

Hello Mark,
I've had my machine now for nine months, and it has performed flawlessly. I want to remove the cover and blow any dust out with compressed air as per the "care and maintenance" section of my manual. There is no diagram. Are there any precautions I need to take before removing the cover? I don't want to do anything to void my warranty, should I ever need it.

Just pull the cover starting from the rear. No need to remove any front panel screws. Blow it out with dry compressed air being careful of any circuit boards and that's it. Don't over tighten the side screws.

Unplug the unit for 15 minutes before you start. As Zoama said, remove rear panel first (don't need to clear power cord though), and then remove the metal cover. Try to spread the bottom of the metal cover and inch or two when pulling it up and to the rear at the same time. I'd personally cut the air pressure down to blow it out and wear eye protection. Check the fan blades for any metallic build up from grinding/welding activities, carefully scrape/knock it off if possible.

Took about 15 minutes as per your instructions. Hardly any debris or dust was found. I don't do any grinding around my machine though. Thanks again to Mark and Zoama. I've gone through about 25 tanks of argon (125's) so far with no problems of any kind.

That is a lot of tanks. What type work do you do?
