ID:	11995Hello all I have a pu205p pretty new (dec13) have only used the plasma function once before today and that was on some very thin metal. Today I was looking to cut some 1/2" ,the specs say the machine will do 5/8" severance and 1/2" cuts part of reason I got it. Well when set it up to cut I was not getting a good cut at all as a matter of fact it didn't even go through the metal..I did cut the same metal with another plasma Hobart Awhile ago and it was pretty quick. You can see in the pics the Hobart cuts straight and cleanand the pu205p cuts don't seem to get the penetration..
I altered my air pressure from a low of 60 ish to high 70 psi. I have a 60 gallon compressor with air dryer and a second air dryer at the unit..my amps are set to max 49.. Suggestions? I really don't want to grind the metal out...Click image for larger version.

You may not have your work clamp connected right. Do you have it in the negative or positive? Have you checked your consumables and made sure they are tight and the swirl ring is mounted correctly?

Well I checked all fittings consumables etc all good, I bumped up the air pressure a smidge or two and made some pretty good cuts.. Seems like my rate of travel was the biggest culprit and possibly the ground. Thks for suggestionsClick image for larger version.
