Thread: Login time-out

  1. Default Login time-out

Is there some reason why I only remain logged-in for a few seconds at a time? I can log in, open a thread, type a few words, and when I try to submit I'm already logged out. Seems awful short.

    Thanks, Neil

Had Bell run a upload and download test and I did it also at my end now they said they fixed it, it is slow then ever now, phoned Bell again and now they are send a service tech out to check the lines and things so it is not at your end.
Mike thanks for your input at your end, nice to know it was not the website.
My download was .33 to .46 mbps and it should be 6.00 to 5.50 mbps.

ATT will cut corners if you do not keep an eye on them. The site is a little laggy, that is normal, but it should not have you re-login in minutes. Something is not right there.

Mike - I'm running Firefox 27.0.1 and my download speed is around 8Mbs. I have no similar issue with any other forum, and the timeout seems to vary. Since re-logging takes so little time I will live with it. Just glad I don't lose the content I just typed!

I just update Firefox to 27.0.1 and all is working got speed up to 5.3 Mbps and it is a lot faster Bell put filters on the line and it caused a problem they removed them and all is well for now. The tech told me to check line speed every two weeks using (speed test .net) and if it gets below 5.0 phone Bell.

This has been my exact experience with ATT! I call up and complain about slow internet speed, explain that "Yes I tried other browsers", and "Yes, the other computers in the house perform the same way (slow!)", and "Yes, the phone service is messed up too at the same time the internet is acting up (since both use the same line)". They send a tech out, he calls from his truck 10 minutes before the appointment deadline, and asks me if I can get a ladder out and "swat" the incoming line with a broom stick handle (so he doesn't have to drive all the way out here and do actual work).

I respond with "I don't happen to own a broomstick handle since all my extra handles have the broom attached to them...now don't forget to bring your ladder when you get here since the incoming line is about 20 feet off the ground!" The tech comes out, does very little, and then proceeds to tell me that even though I signed up for high speed internet and should be getting 12mbps during even the slowest periods, and the fact my connection continues to time me out or produce as low as .61mbps on a constant basis, their service connection is working perfectly. My issues are just due to high internet traffic (YEAH RIGHT!).

We've only had one tech come out and do his job (replaced the original installers shabby work and then ordered some other techs out to have the slack in the line "taken up" after the garbage truck hit it and knocked it loose. The rest of the guys have been useless (I mean that in the good Christian way)!

I didn't see this covered earlier in the thread, but if you don't check the "Remember Me" box, it'll act like that.
