This subject is of particular interest to me, being in Alaska. Dose anyone have an idea what the “real” fluid is made of? Has anyone anywhere tried alcohol? I know its flammable but a 40% mix will not light and won’t freeze to about -40 F. There is some air dryer fluid (for truck brake systems) that’s less flammable also but I think it also has some kind of glycol in it. You can get a gallon of denatured alcohol at Wally World for about $7 in the paint dept.

    Default coolant mix

If you look up the MSDS for Miller's coolant, the only listed item is glycol.

Thanks, that’s a clue, I noticed the guy doing the testing (the link you posted) didn't test the Miller fluid? I'm probably going with the RV fluid, my original plan, and maybe change it often. I suppose though that Mark has a good point, cost of the "blue" fluid far outweighs replacing the cooler or mucking up the torch. And hey we already saved big bucks on the setup anyway, right.
