Thread: Powerarc 200st

  1. Default Powerarc 200st

I would like to purchase a Powerarc 200st. The problem is, there is conflicting information everywhere about which model I will receive, the original 200 without dual voltage, or the new version. Amazon lists it as 220v only, but in the Q&A section, some customers received dual voltage models. You can buy the dual voltage st model on the home depot website for $399. Until about a week ago, the price on amazon was $319, but recently was changed to match the everlast price of $349. The everlast site doesn't list anything about the 200st in any kind of product information. I emailed Mark a few days ago, but at of yet, still no response on which unit I would receive if I ordered it from amazon or directly from everlast. Anyone shed some light on what I would get if I ordered today?

    Thanks,

    Wade

If you call Everlast, they can tell you what is in stock and you will know exactly what model you are getting. With Amazon it depends on if it is being sold by Everlast through Amazon, or directly from Amazon. For the first, see above, for the second, they will ship you what is on the shelf. You won't really know until you open the box. The pictures and descriptions on Amazon are not entirely trustworthy. Of course, if it's not what you want, Amazon will let you return it at no cost, so it's not a big deal. If you are a Prime member, there is also the free two day shipping to factor in. If you call Everlast they will often match a price, or sell you a package deal that you can't really get anywhere else. Lots of options, it just depends on what factors are most important to you, speed, price, return policy, etc.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

Yeah, I guess I can give them a call. Living in Japan for the last 10 years, I tend to rely more on email due to the time zone difference. I am retiring from the military soon, and look forward to moving back to the states and having access to quick shipping and being able to see products in a store before I buy them.

Thanks Mark. There is no longer a "make an offer" link on the PA200 purchase page. Could we work a deal on a WP17 tig torch if I pay full price for the welder through your site?

Got my new machine today! I was, in fact, a 200st. Didn't try it on 120v yet, but it ran the chit out of every brand of 7018 I have. Compared to my Thermal arc 181i, it welds awesome. I put the leads for the 200 away and just transferred my leads from the 181i since the dinse connectors are the same. I will post a project with it in a few weeks.
