I would not have tried the machine if that letter hadn't accompanied the machine and also talking to Everlast.
Everlast is NOT a "foreign company". The machines are assembled in China from parts that come from other countries... just like most other welders, including the ones you may think are "made in the USA". I believe big blue has four factories in China.

I had the pleasure to talk to Mark, aka Performance, and got things sorted out. I am a happy camper. I do have concern over the MOSFET Board(s), but with a 5 year warranty I am satisfied. The SuperUltra 205 does seem to be a great machine, from the limited use I have tried it; stick & Tig so far.

I would or will only buy directly from Everlast... just an FYI

Thank you all for your input and comments, now back to some burning

Hey Jeff, for what it's worth I've been very satisfied with my Everlast Super200P, which is also Mosfet, and I bought it back in 2007. Everlast has done a good job supporting their old product. To a degree I think the message about IGBT being better may be substantially a marketing message to build more interest in their newer machines. They did also switch manufacturers when they switched to IGBT machines, and the newer manufacturer may have been more consistent than where they were sourcing from previously. IMO, it doesn't mean your MOSFET machine is going to be any less reliable, if it all seems to be working properly at the beginning. Hope you enjoy the machine!
