Thread: NEW 2013 EVERLAST PowerITig 200T DC DIGITAL PULSE TIG WELDER LOW 2AMP START !

  1. #1

Default NEW 2013 EVERLAST PowerITig 200T DC DIGITAL PULSE TIG WELDER LOW 2AMP START !

One final announcement that we have to post up about the 2013 models...Another digital unit.

One of the best niche units we have in our stable is the i-TIG 200. It's found a big following by guns smiths and other specialty manufacturers. It's a reliable, hard working unit with a LOT of capability.

So we have considered what we can do to make a better product and improve performance and features. So we have developed a completely new I tig 200, which will fall into the digital lineup of welders that we have. It'll have similar features as the 255 EXT but as the i-tigs are DC only, it too will be DC only.

ONE very special thing it will have is the ability to fire off at an incredible 2 amps. We've studied the market and found that there is a need for this extremely low ignition point for guys that have molds and similar products to repair. It's been a constant request, so we've added this major capability to the unit.

Here are some comparative specs next to the current i-tig...

Great looking little DC machine. I love the specs, but am sorry to see you dropped the dual input voltage. For the real low amp stuff, running on 120V can be pretty handy at times. Is this going to replace the current iTIG 200 or is this an additional model?

Minor suggestion - You guys need to loose the nylon carry strap on your smaller units. I'd stick with a rigid handle (going to make one for my PP 50). I don't know of all that many people that would be toting these around like a man purse.

A good many people do actually and several companies use them. Changing to a handle type face cost MAJOR money to recast a panel.

An easy solution is to pop open the fixed end of the strap and rethread it back and forth a few times through the buckle. Then you have a nice handle sized strap that stays out of the way, and you could still make a shoulder strap if needed. I did that on my little PA140ST because the strap kept getting in the way. It works great and makes a nice handle.

With the series of tests that I was doing on this welder over the last week I found very consistent arc starts using a 1/16" 2% thoriated tungsten at 3 amps with a amp draw of . 746 amps
The 2 amp output as stated may show on a multi meter as being correct but the actual low amp is 2.9 amps
Another really nice feature on this and the new 255ext will be the ability to use any foot pedal or amp control torch regardless of what pot value they use .
    Cheers

Perhaps... but the 255EXT IS sitting behind him on the bench in this vid:

So where are we at on the 255? The other thread is locked so you might expect questions popping up anywhere.

    Thanks,
