Wow, that's good to know! I never would have thought that, but obviously it works well enough for them to sell those dies like crazy! I would have no problem machining my own dies from aluminum, even with my little lathe. Maybe there's hope after all!

Thanks for the dimension detail on your die. I saved it so I have something to go off of if I decide later that I want to build the bender. I'm still thinking of making the dies from steel for bending larger diameters of tubing (like 1.5").
