Thank you zoama. I hope it works without cracks or breakage occurring in the future! I guess I can always buy a used cover later on when I have an extra $25-$50, if it does indeed fail. Fingers are crossed anytime I weld cast iron.

I did not read the whole post. But if it's a cover? More than one pass I think I saw, and bottom the side has good penetration. It will last a long time.
The cleanup work to me was nice, but I get yelled at for grinding welds here. I like it to look like all one part, other her like you to see the welds. My vote, looks great (like one part).
