Thread: Are the new 2013 models out yet?

  1. Default Are the new 2013 models out yet?

Hi, I am interested in buying either a new 200dx welder, the 2013 model with the dual voltage, new style foot pedal and the improved front panel and was wondering if it was available yet. If the 200dx dual voltage isn't available yet were there any improvements made to the 250ex in 2013 and if so what were they and is it available yet? Also are they the planning on making 250ex a dual voltage machine?

    thanks,
    ed

Good morning, Ed- Duncan posted some photos of machines in production here:
    http://www.everlastgenerators.com/fo...ook-2013-200dx

Your best bet to find out immediate availability would be to call the sales office in SF: 877-755-9353.

Totally a guess on my part: the 250EX is the water-cooled workhorse, and operating at 110v would likely reduce the machine's capabilities and add expense to the extent that another welder in the lineup would do the same work better and cheaper. Are you thinking of portability, or ease of wiring the machine up?

The 200dx is in production now and the dual voltage units are being tested tomorrow.
The 250ex will not be produced as a dual voltage welder. I am not sure what you mean by new pedal , there is talk of a new mold for the pedal but at this time it is talk and no mold has been produced to date.

The 250 EX is a dual phase machine...capable of operating off of 1 or 3 phase 240V.

to Titan winch, I heard that they were changing the foot pedal so that you set your max amps at the panel and then when you used the pedal that that was the max amps you were going to get, that what you had set at the panel was max and as you let off on the pedal it would go to 0 as you pulled out of the weld vs. using the pedal to control from 0 to the max capable of the machine. I think on my friends that no matter what you have set as your max amps on the panel of the machine, when you use the foot pedal it overrides that number. I might be wrong but I know it wasn't like the miller I had or use at work, it is kinda hard to get used to.
    thanks,

Ed that was never completely the case with the 200DX. You had an amp control knob that limited maximum amps on the pedal. But true, it would only read the amps when the pedal was pressed. But the knob would give you a numerical value that wasn't amps, but once used a little bit you could get the hang of it. It would represent an approximate setting of the foot pedal and you could translate that value into the maximum amp setting as the knob was turned. (all our units change from a static amp reading to true output once the pedal is pressed) But since about the middle of this year, the panel knob limited the amps for the foot pedal. It isn't a new pedal in fact, it is the same one but without the limiting knob on the pedal.

Are the 2013 models out yet? A periodic update on the forum would really help us pre-order folks.

I can not speak for the USA ,but Jean sent out emails today to all our back order Customers updating them on the arrival for Canadian models they arrive in Toronto around midnight Friday and once cleared will be in our facility and starting testing by Tuesday , Wednesday and they wil ship as they are tested. In fact I have been told I have to work late each day and our part time guy will be working evenings with me just for testing and checking units for most of next week.
In fact I just added another 50 amp welding outlet at the back so we can now test 3 Welders at a time

    Cheers

Is this just the new TIG or does this apply to the MIG line as well?

Thank you for the insight Titan! Hopefully the USA models will be close behind. I may have to take a road trip if you have any leftovers

The new Migs are not in this shipment for Canada. I wil most likely be testing new Migs when i am back at the Factory in March ,at least for the Canadian market

I just finished clearing the Shipment ( it arrived early ) it is now at the Warehouse but seeing as Monday is a Holiday i will be receiving this order before Noon on Tuesday. I don,t like being so rushed but at least i can start testing welders in the afternoon and evening to try to get ahead of the orders . I have Customers coming in on Wednesday for pick ups so i need to make sure these are all in order and sorted out first.

All in due time. Changes delay things, the new 250EX looks if very nice.. Also, Duncan's inspecting means less issues, so well worth it.

On you signature, I would get a IMIG-200. Can not bring myself to sell mine and thinking about getting a second one.

I have been waiting on the new migs.... the date just keeps moving further and further away. If testing is done Mid march it will be mid April for shipping (at best). What ever happened to testing mid December shipping Mid January... I wish I could wait for the new line but I just cant any longer. I have 2 different solar tracker projects that have been damaged by not properly securing the actuator. One is just mild, the other (larger)... may end up being a total loss.

Shane, What do you think the new units will do for you that the ones we have now won't? The units coming in aren't replacing what we have now. They have the same basic components as far as the drive, and solenoids etc. They are digitallly controlled and that's it basically. They may have a few features that appeal to some of our customers, but the current I migs are some of our best product...So, why all the disappointment and frustration? I don't remember us setting a date on the digital i MIGs.

Can't you properly secure the actuator with tig or stick ?

When I originally called Oleg to order in Nov, I was told to wait if I could for the "new one." Mid Jan was when I was told I should have the "new one."

The big one is 17ft up in the air.... I guess I could give stick welding a shot... never done it so I better do a lot of practicing first.

For what ever it might be worth my opinion and actually that of the person who does all the mig unit testing at the factory, the best mig function model to date is the synergic MTS models in the 200 and 250 amp.
I have to agree with this evaluation as I was testing the units the other week and this is what brought up the question and the reason I asked.
Mind you it is a close call between these and the 205 ( I have the most time on the I-Mig 205 so it is the easiest for me to relate to )
The new model digitals may very well be as good or better but at this point until you start actually evaluating them there is little you can say to the quality of weld they will put out.
    Cheers
