Hard wiring a welding cart?

I have 3 machines now, a 200DX, I-MIG200, and a Power Plasma 60.

I was thinking of building the cart, then adding 3 metal plug boxes on the back that all the machines can plug into. Then having a extension cord go from that to a plug to the wall outlet.

Since I will only have one machine running at a time, I would never overload the breaker.

What you guys think?

Similar to what I'm about to do. I'm running some 110 outlets to the front of my cart, also an air distro block (going to take a 50' hose and make some shorter hoses). 240 on the back to plug machines into, with a switch up front so I don't have to reach behind the machines to flip them on.

I've gotten lazy with electrical... Going to tell my electrician what I want to do and see what he shows up with Most likely an industrial grade fused box. Nice big red handle with lockout capability on the side. He doesn't half-### anything, so it'll be exactly what I need, even if I don't know what that is yet.

Sounds exactly like what I plan on doing. The wire connections will probably be the most challenging part.
