Default Problem with my torch switch...

I bought the WP-20F torch last year to replace the Huge torch that came with my 250EX.
Today, the switch has decided to not work but it is stuck in the "on" position, not the actually switch lever but the electronics.
I switched to my pedal and it works fine.

Has anyone had this problem and is there a fix besides buying a new switch?

It may be possible (I have done it with some success) to carefully pry it apart, and clean it. That might start things working again. Do it in a warm room so the plastic won't pop on you.

But honestly any momentary switch like a toggle or rocker switch from Radio shack will work.

How hard is it to cut and splice in a rocker switch?

I just threw it to the side because I was busy but I guess I need to dig in a little deeper and take a look at it.

Splice in? No harder than you make cutting two wires, and connecting them together at the switch????

I was thinking there was several wires since it has the connector at the other end with all the pins....

I took the switch apart, pulled out the micro switch inside and pushed it a few times. put it all back together and turn on the welder and it works perfect now!?!? Dirty maybe??

Was there any electrical lubricant in the switch? If so it might have gotten gummed up and taking it apart helped to free up the stickiness.

You may like a smaller switch with much less travel... I used a 5mm momentary.
