Default 2013 Miscellaneous changes for Everlast line

So here are a few of the updates for next year.

    NEW 2013 PowerPlasma 60/60/70/80

    - Will feature the s-75 torch now, which is a blow back start, which improves comparability for add on CNC customers, but also improves overall reliability.
    - There is a new case design which will be used for all the DX/LX/EX units which is very similar to the new 255ext.

    NEW 2013 PowerTig 200DX/225LX/250EX

    - Line will get a slight "refresh" on all the larger PowerTIGs. The Panels for all the larger PowerTIGs will have a slight redesign. More to be posted later.
    - There is a new case design which will be used for all the DX/LX/EX units which is very similar to the new 255ext.

Looks like I am going to wait for the new 2013 PowerTig 250EX for the shop and put down my Hobart 250 after 26 years of rolling around the 400lbs.

When are the 2013 250EXs avalable?

I really like the regrouping of the knobs. Moving the gas flow to it's own group away from the 4T slope controls is great. Maybe they might someday get a new knob color, as well?

Rambozo, glad you picked up on that...Also if you will notice, the gas control is part of both cycles, so they are separately grouped within the group. For even further clarification, have given a couple of "directions" on the panel to make SURE customers get the setup right when going from foot pedal to torch and vice versa.

I can't see all the labels, but it looks like the new layout really groups the controls in a logical way. I'm guessing the green layout is:

    START AMPS | END AMPS
    UP SLOPE | DOWN SLOPE
    PRE FLOW | POST FLOW

So all the starts are on the left and all the ends on the right. And having the spot time switch and knob grouped together is great. Again maybe it should have a different color knob? It would be nice if the pulse switch didn't have the printing on it because it really doesn't match with the actual positions, but I understand those come preprinted from the manufacturer. In fact except for the spot timer, I think you would be better served with just all plain black switch faces for everything. Just less confusion as more as more people now know the binary 1 and 0 for on and off, as it's used on more and more things. Because on and off really don't apply to most of the switches, anyway.
I get the feeling this new layout will cut your support calls, at least a little.

    Rambozo,
Those things come standard, not much we can do about it unless we spend major $$$$$$. The colors are also limited. Most factories if they have a colored knob available will make it in only 4 colors or less. They also have to match the potentiometer shafts as well. We have new knobs scheduled, but they are not in place yet. They will be updated late this year I hope.

I thought the picture that was put up earlier showed the knobs and description better.

That one is easier to read. Instead of having the instructions to turn down all the slope controls to use the pedal, why doesn't plugging the pedal in, disable those controls? Seems like it's a common issue for support.
