    I can't wait to finish the trailer. Did I mention I have 2 bikes I am building too?

    The candle is burning on too many ends..

    I can't wait to get my new IMIG-200 in the mail.

    The more I have been looking at the fender holders, it makes me think that I should have gone with thicker steel. I am probably going to cut those off and go with 1 1/2 angle, or maybe even more square tubing.

    If I went with square tubing,I would build the box, then weld tabs on the inside and bolt diamond plate to that. Then weld those D-rings to the top of the square tubing.

    I don't know yet.

    Extremely tiny update:

    Since I have been spending all my hard earned money on green stuff made by Everlast, I haven't did much for the camper. I am at work on the middle of January anyway.

    I am going to skin the outside with epoxy resin, the bed liner from Durabak.

    Today, I bought a gallon of resin, to see how much I use when I do the bottom first, then I will order accordingly.



    Then I ordered new taillight boxes. I tried to save the other ones, but they are trashed. Also, they are tack welded together. I will completely weld them up this time. I am going with 2" tubing where the angle was. Then inset aluminum diamond plate. Maybe even steel, dunno yet.

    I just hope I meet the deadline that I have set. I have a lot going on too. I have a dirt bike trip to Hatfield/McCoy's I am going to for a week. Then a separate trip to Tenn as well. Plus I am helping a friend convert a van to 4WD too.

    Also, some high res pics before I left. Since those pics, the holes have been drilled for the hitch pins. And on my local forum a couple guys asked if the frame was warped. It's not. It's just really bumpy ground where the trailer is.

    You are going to want to make a mounting plate for that trailer jack. The long bolts and thin metal clamps will do nothing but bend once you have a lot of weight on it. Something like this:

    Mine isn't pretty but it works very well. Hope that helps.

    Might want to plug up the left and right rails also. Or make sure you got paint or primer in their. Water from the road will get in there and might be a problem down the road far as rust.

    How do you plan to skin it?

    With the jack mounted to the sliding part of the tongue, how are you going to take the load off so you can slide it in and out?
    Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

    I have been thinking of a solution to that. Any ideas? A tongue box will cover the tongue completely. I was thinking of maybe some kind of jack that mounted on the bottom?

    I'd say just leave the clamp on mount until you get farther along. Maybe something will present itself as you get more done. You might be able to fasten the jack to the tongue box. It's not like this trailer is going to weigh a lot. Of course you could get real tricky and put a powered jack inside the tongue box.

    That went together real nice! I saw the first set of photos and figured you had decided what to do with the fenders but then noticed the last picture showed the fenders off. Have you figured out what you want to do there?

    I welded ton the fenders before I put the cabin on the trailer. When I did, the tires hit the fender. So I had to cut them off. And they need to be re-welded. No biggie because I have to weld on the mounting tabs that bolt the cabin to the frame. And cover the holes at the ends of the trailer too.

    One cool thing was, I used my plasma 60 to cut them off. First time using it. Love it LOL.

    Plasma is a handy tool to have around that's for sure. Thanks for taking so many pictures. I know it's sometimes tough to remember to take a pic during a project and sometimes not very convenient to grab the camera if you've got gloves on, etc.
