спасибо for another lesson! It's always a privilege to see the effort that goes into the final product. During the bend, how hot is the work piece? Have you heated it so it will conform to the conductor, or is the work piece cold?

it all depends on the thickness of the workpiece. thin material can be a cold, and thick workpiece it is necessary to heat up strongly.

The pictures and description help a lot … man that’s old school Now I see I need to get busy and stop procrastinating on build that forge I’ve been talking about for the last 5 years. You seem to have this stuff dialed … выдающийся

I need to make time to build one too.

Ruslan, did you build your own forge? If so, could we see some pictures sometime? спасибо

You guys with forges are a lot braver than I am! LOL That is great stuff. I love the way the end is pounded flat and made to look like a fan. The pictures are fantastic!
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

Ruslan, count me in. Any details on the forge? Like RedBeard and Winky, I would like to have one and anvil since I am sure the power hammer is not gonna happen for me.

What gas do you use? How big a tank and how long can it fire or attached to heating system on the shop?

I have always wanted one, like a CNC cutter, etc. I have a mill, just not here since I have to get it here from where is sat and heavy.

I moved recently to this room, it is a little less than pregoing so excuse for a brothel (but is closer to the main workshop), forces sufficed while only on moving, to spread out things in places there is no time. at present the smithy looks here soClick image for larger version.

Very nice. Is the blower motor variable in speed to get the right flow or just designed for the oven. And do you really need all those hammers I would kill for that anvil, but it must be a pain when you have to move your shop, talk about heavy metal..

Very nice setup. But the real magic isn't the tools, but the artist who wields them.
That looks like it might be the speed control box on the end of the upper hammer rack. A mix of old and new tech.

I've got a bid on a small open hearth gas forge; it's only a single burner unit but large enough to try my hand at making some Damascus blades. This should be fun!
