Hello all in Texas...
Hello everyone in the forum. I just got my 140st up and running this past weekend. I tried out some 6011 rods on some slightly rusted strap steel. The rods were really old but it still managed to weld pretty well. Its insane to see that tiny machine next to a Lincoln AC/DC tombstone welder and putting out more DC amps.
I haven't welded anything of note since highschool, so I am basically starting over again. As soon as I complete my 50amp circuit(larger for future bigger welders) to the garage I am going to start practicing on some plate steel with some 1/8" 7018 rods. Then I think my first project will be a welding/tool drawer cart to be made out of angle iron probably. Thanks for the great welder and I can't wait to post some project pictures.
