Just received a new Power Pro 256. Everything arrived in about 5 business days and in good condition. The only issue is the foot pedal supplied with the unit does not work. The Tig Torch switch works fine so I know it is the pedal. Contacted Tech support and after a few minutes of trouble shooting and no results. Everlast is shipping a new pedal out to me. As a matter of fact I got the shipping notice to my email about 15 minutes after I hung up with Warranty.
Sure the pedal not working is a negative, but the way it got handled seems to be fast and fair. Support can always be a concern when I buy products that are not as mainstream as Miller or others. I am satisfied so far that Everlast has done a good job. The second positive is, because I could not wait to test the Tig functions, I had to learn a new skill. I had never tig welded with a torch switch. I learned some things and although a foot pedal makes everything, especially aluminum weld easier, I have been able to lay down some decent beads with the torch switch. I skill that will no doubt come in handy in some race car roll cage some day.
I bought the 256 to put in my race car trailer because I don't have a lot of space or extra weight capacity. In most cases, like any good fabricator, if I have some plate, a plasma cutter, a grinder and a tig machine I can make just about any bracket that could break.
Thanks,
Bill
