Other than the time to change the process, it is a nice product. If you are tight on space or budget it is a lot of product for the money. Have fun. Shoot up pictures of any new project if you have time.

Welcome, ArcRay! DC stick on these machines is smooth, isn't it?! For me it was a big change from an AC only stick machine.

There's a lot of info here in the forums about air dryers for the plasma cutter... have you seen those, or looked into it?

    What are you working on?

Ray, Dave brings up a very good point here.

With plasma you want dry air for good clean cuts. I use the silica beads (cheap). You can spend all kinds of money, but if nothing else the Harbor Freight desiccant $8 filter to get started.

There is a little learning curve as well, though it looks like it is push button and move, there is a technique to cutting. Also make sure you're not going to run it off a small roofing (pancake) compressor. The 3 or 4 or better CFM makes all the difference.

But with enough dry air, the consumables will last longer and you will have nice clean cuts.

Congratulations on getting everything setup, ArcRay! Really nice to have a welder with a smooth arc. As Everlastsupport stated, dry air is important. There's a post from Rod somewhere here in the forum regarding a cat litter product that is almost entirely desiccant if you are the DIY type (and I suspect you are given that you have a Plasma cutter, Stick welder and TIG welder ....). Cheers!
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?
