I had Brett spend the day yesterday playing with the settings and just getting a feel for the machine.
First comment he had was on the Foot pedal being so much smaller than our other pedals , but he soon got used to it.
Second point he really liked on the unit was having the ability to set his % for Hot start ( percentage above operating amps to start stick weld ) and the time for it to stay on.
He is still playing with the different wave forms but his feelings are that the standard Square wave is his go to choice.
He is picking up the functions and oprating parameters fairly easily including going into the sub menus .
To start of he simply wrote down the sub menus paremeters and then simply played with it to see the differences.
The nice thing for me having Brett do this is the fact he is 19 years old ( last week ) and works here part time and during holidays and he is a novice welder ,so operating the functions on this machine is not that difficult to pick up on especially if you stay away from the hidden menus .
I'm sure a "novice" 19 year old can pick up on the settings and menus on an electronic device pretty quick as compared to some "experienced" welders....have you ever picked up some of these new smart phones? Crazy.
