Will post pictures of the water heater project when I get home from vacation. I have 5.3KW of solar panels taking up too much space in my garage and not making power.

    Thanks for the link.

I did get a good deal on them. I ordered them from sunelec.com

I paid $.78/watt for them, which is great for UL panels. If you are doing an off grid system they have some thin film panels right now for $.58/watt which is a great deal.

Oh, and one thing to keep in mind on them is you are either going to have to spend more on a MPPT charge controler or more for a 48v inverter. However depending on the size of system you are wanting both may be the best option. A lot depends on your budget, sometimes lower cost panels cost you more in the end.

Off to go look at the sunelec.com. Have batteries, I would think I could not the other schematics online. .58/W sounds really good. Sounds really cheap. 15 watt junk trickle charger are $40-$50

They are in Miami.... Not sure where you are other than Florida.

What are you wanting out of a solar setup?

Panels for charging and running an inverter, but the cost has always stopped me.

How big of an inverter? How much load? Generators are a lot cheaper than solar, but if you cant get gas.....
