Just got my 200dx on Tuesday. Got it wired up and all put together this morning. Then I got called away for a couple hours. The quick tip I learned was turn all the knobs to the left and turn the power up. Grabbed a piece of 1/8" and decided to give it a try. I have only seen someone in person once using a TIG. Never even held a torch before.

Doesn't seem bad for a first time. I am very happy with the machine so far. Welding Aluminum seems to be pretty close to soldering. Lot of things to do and new habits to learn. One problem I found right away. I am used to pulling the torch away... I have to learn to let up on the pedal first. I have been using a MIG for a lot time. Seems strange when done how much heat there is... Maybe still in the back of my mind thinking of soldering.

I guess I got carried away and tried a lap joint... Thin diamond plate with a bit of a gap in spots... No burn through but having a rough time heating the bottom sheet without burning the top one back. Ah... Learning...
