Original post to start the thread.

After looking through the manuals and on the website, most of the units only have the weight, and not the physical dimensions. It would be great if there was a place to look up that info. I can see the 140 is really small, but just how small. And how does a PowerPro 256 compare to a PowerTig 250EX vs. a 210EXT. While the EXT has dimensions, only an older version of the EX manual has them. It seems to me that they should be included in the specification on the web page.

i couldn't agree more. i had to pull teeth to get dim's on 250 EX. doesn't anyone own a tape measure? it was important too me since i have a service truck with multiple compartments and i was hoping to place it in a compartment. something i can't do with my miller inverter. placed in the box i can keep it at ground level and don't have to go climbing in the back into a gang box to pull it out.

seems so easy but obviously, since nothing has changed, it's not.

The PowerPro and PowerTig dimensions are identical except 185/i tig 200...so are the PowerPlasma 60-80.

But most of the dimensions are listed for most units in the product brochures on the site.

I will agree with the hard to locate. I guessed many were on the forum, but the "helpful" search engine strips off short words like 256 and 140 so all I could do was search the word dimensions. That returned a ton of irrelevant hits. Even the advanced search had the same limitations. It doesn't help that the model names are entered in so many ways that the number is about the only thing you can count on.

Some have a downloadable specs sheet, but they only repeat what is on the website, and do not include the dimensions. Usually just electrical specs.

X83 That is awesome finally the dimensions all in one place. I have the Power Pro 205 and the dimensions (inches) are 24Lx16.5Hx9W, the 24L includes the pressure regulator/water trap.

Thanks, I was looking through some of that material. When I compared specs in the manuals I could tell some were older models and not correct. For example for The Power I-Tig 200 I can find different dimensions depending on where I look. 17x8x12.5 in seems to be the older model while 9”Wx24”Lx17”H is shown with what looks like the newer photograph. Then everyone has their own method of measuring and rounding. Even the metric-english conversions have significant rounding errors or something. It all depends on the units used to measure and how it was converted. Because of rounded cases, handles, knobs, etc. it would be nice if there was a standard way to measure and a common level of precision. For most things like this I would say give the overall dimensions of a box that will contain the unit without any plugs or attachments, but including all handles, feet, and knobs. Precision should probably be .1" or 2 mm or better. Like fdcmiami said, being able to find out if something will fit where you intend to put it is kinda a big deal. It's not like people can walk into a showroom and measure one of these. From what I understand there was a list at one time but due to a computer crash it was lost.

Backups are not optional. It's not if a hard drive will fail, it's when!
