That cabinet looks like a big empty box. Might be able to pull that front panel off and weld in some steel to screw ball bearing extension draw guides to. Then build some plywood drawers and you're good to go.

I tried to weld plywood. Couldn't get a good ground going. Any suggestions?
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?
