Thread: Welder Generator Question

  1. #1

    Default Welder Generator Question

Will Everlast ever venture off into the engine driven welder market? I've looked some online and some the ones from over seas look pretty neat.

Just curious about the reasons you are looking into this. I know you often have the generator and your trusty PA200 with you out in the field. Are you looking to streamline what you need to haul out, the weight and cut down on some wires too?
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

We have had a number of discussions and it is something that is a viable product for future consideration. We have started looking at some options but we are a long way from commiting to anything at this point in time. I doubt we will be in a position to offer anything this year but then again you never can tell

Mo-Power! I had ran across some pages from some factories in China and some of them looked interesting. What I have now is fine, but I am always looking at ways to reinvest and grow as I can.

Mo-Power? 'nuff said. That is a good enough justification for about anything in my book ....

I think the market gets pretty limited... If you get separate units you can always use the welder in the shop. (without the generator) and the generator can be used elsewhere. The ones I have seen only have power for a small load. Not near their capacity in an outlet.

I would like to have 10,000 watts of running power with a 40-50 amp breaker. By the time I get a generator that size I'm not that far off from a welder generator like a Ranger 225. I also want to get where I can leave when I get a call. I have to load everything up and that takes about 30 minutes, and then unload when I get home. It's working right now, but at some point I have to have a separate mobile setup thats ready to go.

Just looked up the Ranger. Looks nice. Maybe I am out of it for a while. The ones I looked at before did not supply much power (besides for welding). Maybe a couple outlets for a grinder. But did not have much over 10 amps in an outlet.

Some of the old Lincoln's you are correct as for AC power. They did supply a fair amount of DC power. Makita makes a DC grinder that runs from these old machines. At some point I will have to upgrade. I was curious if Everlast had something coming out in the near future.
