    Default My 200DX arrived today!

Sucks that I'm working through till Friday and won't have a chance to even put it on the cart till late tomorrow night.

The consumables were all over the place in the box, but all are there and nothing is broken (small nick on the outside of one of the cups, but since it's on the outside I doubt it'll affect anything at all).

Not liking the electrode holder, probably swapping it out this weekend for a clamp style like I'm used to.

Machine arrived with nothing broken externally, though there's something loose inside, on the bottom. I can hear it floating around when I rock it back and forth, will open it up and take a look late tonight after work or tomorrow perhaps and get with support if it's anything important.

Anything else I should look for when I'm inside the case?

Hopefully I'll be tigging this weekend, though something came up, not sure if I'll have enough for a bottle just yet. Friend called with a rescued bulldog pup, snatched it right out from under animal control. They were going to take her and put her down. Looks like a couple of near future projects will be some gates to keep her out of the kitchen (no cabinet doors) and a custom doggie door to install in the livingroom wall (patio door isn't configured for one).

Folks that found her named her Sprocket, but I'm thinking Tig... I think the universe sets things up for reasons, I'm not so big into 'signs' but I do believe there's an order to things, a plan, karma, and all that, no real coincidences.

Hey, excellent news all around. New welder and a new friend. Keep us up-to-date with how you are liking the new machine and your projects. Tough being excited about something but you have to waaaaait ........
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

Looks to be about a year old, American and possibly English mix, maybe some Boxer. Great disposition, very well behaved, damn shame someone dumped her. There are some real arses out there. They got a first round of shots taken care of, and my area has free spay/neuter/rabies programs for bulldogs and bulldog mixes. She's about 45lbs, not cropped or docked.

I'd post pics of the welder too, but it looks like the other 200DXs out there

Cute dog. Hope she was well cared for before you came along.

Yeah, there's a few 200dxs with the folks here. Great machine. You're going to love it. Bit on the big side for what I need but that is nick-picking. I'd jump on the chance to get one if I could afford it. By all accounts, it's an outstanding welder.

Bit on the small side for some things here, but it'll do for 90% and I'll pick up a nice big MIG in the fall for the bigger stuff (I'd rather MIG those, but mine is only a 125)

The loose rattly bit was a blob of solder, just a loose blob, 3/16" diameter, has no indication it came off of anything, looks like a drop from a soldering iron that bounced in at some point, so all good there!

The cord only has 3 wires, I'm assuming white to one side, black to the other, ground to ground? No red wire as was mentioned in wiring up other machines. I did look through the 'manual' but didn't see a diagram. I'll read it through more thoroughly when I'm done laughing... Section IV: Description of the Erection. Well, I'm excited it arrived, but I don't know if I'm quite that excited, LMFAO.

Guys, the welder looks sharp, the innards look well organized and put together, all the connections look great and clean soldering (I've seen some nasty stuff out of that COO) but the manual really gives a bad impression.

Congrats on the new pup, and the new machine! Apparently manuals are the pride and joy of the factory owner, and he can't be convinced to get a different hobby. The logistics of keeping updated manuals on the factory floor are too great to overcome, so the advice of the moderators here is to discard the manual you get in the box, and download your manual from the EverlastGenerators.com website: every page on that site has a red "Manuals" button in the upper right corner.

Hey, I heard there's heavy weather coming your way in FL, heads up!

Congrats my friend ... I've been having a ball with mine. Haven't tried the pedal or pulse yet but everything else works awesome ... I was mistaken about the Tungsten holder sizes looks like .040, 1/16 and 3/32" I've been using 3/32" ... plug wiring ... just make sure green goes to ground ... I used a different plug ... the one I bought had instructions that showed blk left and wht right if I remember correctly. Remember when you set your AC balance it's backwards to Miller and Lincoln ... set it at 35% to start if you set at 65% like Jody says to do with a Miller you will fry your electrode, I learned the hard way LOL. I found out I need to get a bigger argon tank ... it sucks it up pretty fast ... Airgas says they will upgrade my 80 CF to 150CF for $65 so that's what I'll do. Have fun and let me know how you like you're new machine ... I'm finding it was worth the wait.
