As with pretty much any kind of dust, best not to breath in any of the desiccant if there is powder in the canister ....
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

That is a great deal from Tooltopia. I'm grabbing one to incorporate into my shop air system. Hopefully I will see some better tool life as well as consumable life on the plasma.

Here is a picture of the dryer. Air goes into separator on far right, out of that into a copper tube that wraps around right side tank (which I *think* is just an empty tank), from there it goes into the bottom of the left tank (through the bottom separator), up through the dessicant, out the top and to the plasma. The fitting coming out the top (of the left tank) has a "T", one side goes to the plasma, the other side goes to a check valve, then to the right tank (no outlet, just a 'dead end' into that tank. Not sure of the purpose behind that though.

Printed (37", 2" pipe, 19" high make sure inlet points down) the short version from Franz. If bored this weekend, might build it. Then the installing it part comes in. His explanation of how it works sound solid.

That is a good idea for sure. I may build one just for the heck of it, I need to put something coming directly off my compressor to keep the moisture out of my air tools.

I will probably build it and put it after the tank to start (lazy). If I see a lot of water in it. Then I will move it to the tank. Guess I should make two, since I have two units.

How do you change the desiccant in your home made dryer, Rod?
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

has a bung plug on top to fill and a bung plug on bottom to drain litter use a piece of stainless steel welding rod to knock the stuff loose to fall out of bottom plug hole. oh this is not my dryer i am making one but using a different container so easier to change dissnent . was going to use water filter housing since easy to open and dump stuff and refill and there rated a 150 psi http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-whole-Hou...item35a33cdf15

Couldn't see the plug on the bottom and couldn't imagine you taking it off the wall and shaking it upside down to get everything out! LOL
