Thread: any video of......

    Default any video of......

anyone got video or nice photos of a powerplasma50 cutting:

    .5 inch steel
.5 inch AL or any heavy AL as I expect .5 is pushing it
    expanded metals steel,AL or anything

I want to see nice clean reasonably fast controlled cuts, not severance quality, maximum cut type.

any non-metalic cuts? I have been told it can be done...not sure how exactly but maybe with a light sheet of steel on top or something.

trying to decide which machine to buy, while I don't want to go too small, I have seen some pretty impressively thick (though not always pretty) cuts with the pp50 and I like it also for the contact start pilot which isn't yet available on the 60,70,80

    TIA

You can check youtube. Also, Duncan did some cuts in this thread.

    Hope that helps.

Bad cuts can be for a number of reason, not the plasma cutter.

There are a growing number of videos of Everlast PowerSeries and SuperCut series on line as welll as welders.

I was testing a new PowerUltra last night, that has the same powerboard as the PP50, yet has High Frequency. I was plowing through 3/8" non stop for about 20 minutes. I was trying to estimate cut speed. I'd say it was about 20-24 inches per minute and I wasn't pushing it too much, although I'd say I was at about 75% speed. I could be way off on that, but I think that's about what I figured, with me playing around with it between the amperage range. I have a lot of scrap 3/8 material from my side business. I see a lot of guys cross cutting things. When I test, I go length wise on narrow material, and can get quite a few cuts out of it that are serious, non stop cuts.

Here's a customer with a SuperCut series. I don't know the specifics, but he is using the less powerful Mosfet unit even though it says other wise. Its not good quality video, but its more in line with what you are asking.
