    I would think Carbon speaking of carbon have a cool way to do a engine balance test with pieces of vacuum hose

    Or maybe case hardened iron, with a lot of carbon in the hardened layer? A large block of it would wick away the heat,and case hardening is really hard to get anything to stick to at all. Just thinking like a science fiction writer, I’ve never heard of such a thing.
