Thread: Just ordered the PowerUltra 205

  1. Default Just ordered the PowerUltra 205

Talked with alex today and ordered the PowerUltra 205.

i did alot of research and really couldnt find anything Negative about this unit or Company. Read few problems with shipping and few machines not working right... but that happens with anyone, any buisness, even with me runing a small shop i tend to mess up once in awhile.. its how the problem is handled is rather you have a repeat customer or not.. i feel Everlast seems to car and know about what they have. everytime i have called, i manage to speak to a human and not a machine.. lol.. with a 30day return and 5 year warranty, it seems Everlast has confident in there machines...

i decided on this machine for several reasons...
i run a small custom automotive shop , restoring cars and doing frame work and etc... i currently have 3 mig welding machines and 1 320amp ac/dc tig machine...
i was currently looking for a plasma cutter . but with few hundred dollars extra i could get the tig as well in one unit...
my thoughts are.... to get this machine due to the size , it would be much easier to wheel around the shop to do sheetmetal work then my 320amp tig machine (weighs about 500pounds.. lol).. i was only needing DC for sheetmetal work.. so i figure this would be a good choice to have a machine that i can wheel around the shop , and just keep my bigger bulkier tig machine by the frame table..
if this machine does me well, i will be buying a single plasma cutter , and a ac/dc tig unite separate later.
i feel like this machine will meet my needs for now, and i look forward to getting the machine...

i posted this to try to keep people updated on my experience with the Everlast products, and see how long shipping would be from them to me (Alabama)...
i will post up when i receive the machine and as i work with it ill try to post up pics and input from personal experience good or bad....

    thanks
    mat

I did the same thing you are doing, I have had my 205 ultra for a couple months and it is a great machine. when I upgrade I am going to get the 250ex and just use the plasma of the 205 ultra .

A note about "wheeling around" the PowerUltra: It is easily carried and placed near any work area. But you should know that we now are carrying carts so that you don't have to carry it if you don't want to.

Prob is easy to carry.... but i use the full size argon bottles, so that would become a pain to carry as well.. hahaha...

again, look forward to putting this machine to use...

ok , buy the ups tracking # i should receive this machine 2morrow.. Prob would have gotten the machine faster, but due to the holidays, im sure slowed down UPS.. no fault threw Everlast... but even getting the machine 2morrow is a very good turnaround...
i got a 80 gallon 2stage compressor with a water trap on it, i dont have the shop plumb yet with airline.. so this means i have rubber airline all over the floor for now.. haha... i will be buying a water trap for the plasma cutter, i realize i need to have a de-humidifier for my air, but thats down the road. so ill try my best to keep the tanks drained and water traps... eventhough my compressor dont push out verymuch moister... anyways.. looking forward to putting my torch down and using a plasma cutter .. haha

    McClary,

No matter how many customers we have, it never looses the anticipation and excitement when one of our customers receives their first package from us. Of course, we have had a problem or two along the way, mostly thanks to UPS, but the packaging should be better. Would you mind posting the new packaging for all to see? I believe your unit was one that was scheduled for the packaging upgrade, anyway. I can't remember, I know the lightest weight units did not have many shipping issues so some were left as is. It will help a customer prospects to see the improvements that we are workng on, even the smaller details like packaging.

Glad you go it. Have you gotten your plug?

A word to all, the PowerUltra officially is 220V, but it is built to be run on 110, with reduced output if required. This is the way it was slated to be produced, but the final delivery states 220V. But the factory reassures us that it is indeed dual voltage to our specs.
