Finding the PP205 to be an excellent, all-around machine...

Rod, the Syncrowave is probably ~10 years old, but I am not sure. It does not have the digital readouts on it. It's a great welding machine, but I don't need something that size to use twice a year.

I will probably talk with them about the two-unit deal, as I think thats about the only way I will have both a handheld plasma, and a TIG, and still be able to have a 'backup' for the CNC table.

The PowerUltra 205 might be a good option. It looks capable enough to cut thick material, can TIG steel, and since it can't TIG aluminum that makes me assume it is not high frequency start on the plasma. Plus, it can be used on a 120V outlet which makes it much more versatile.

What I am thinking is, possibly buy it to use as a handheld plasma, and have DC TIG capabilities so if I take it with me on a wheeling trip, I have a TIG/Plasma in one box, not as likely I would need to be able to weld aluminum out in the woods. Plus, it's only $900 ($675 with the 25% off from the contest).

Then I would just have to buy a AC/DC TIG for aluminum work, I probably wouldn't buy one until I felt I absolutely couldn't do without. I know a friend that has one I could probably use if it came down to it.

the way it looks all the welders that come with the cnc plug on the back and the cnc switch on front are frequency welders but made low frequency instead hi so it will work rite for a cnc table

I don't see anywhere in the specs that says which welders come with a CNC plug or switch?
