The 250EXT has separate electrode negative and positive amperage gains, but no adjustable wave forms.

The 210EXT has 3 wave forms, but no separate electrode negative and positive amperage gains.

They use 2 different methods to arrive at similar results.

I will report back with details on the waveforms and balance controls this weekend

I know everyone like pictures, so here's a few more...

Ed, I think the processor is the tiny thing that I'm pointing at with a philips screwdriver. It's Very small with no markings.

I still haven't located an arc gap, I'm thinking it must be gapless.

What Amazes me is how well made the everlast welders are made . looking at the circuity boards in this unit looks like they did not cut corner notice had large capacitors and they are using over kill resisters which is good . I have the 250 tig and there plasma cutter . there very well made machines , what is good about the everlast company they take care of you , Had miller tig and it was act of god to get them to help you when something broke . With everlast there rite there to help when something go wrong . there honestly the only company i will buy welding stuff from now on , since of there great service

Yes, that is the processor. I am not sure what brand it is. But the IGBT modules are not Siemens, but an American known company, International Rectifier.

Todd, I like how you get right into things. Great pics.

That black "structure" at the base of the unit is kind of interesting... I wonder what it is.

I'm curious to know how the dual pulse AC feature works, and whether that could be an effective substitute for the machine lacking an AC bias adjustment. For example, if you put the machine into "dual pulse" mode, with the background current being the same as the welding current, then varying the pulse duty % could effectively allow you to vary the effective AC bias. e.g, pulse duty at 0% = 50/50 bias pulse duty at 100% = 100/0 bias

Todd, I'd like to see you try some experiments with using the dual pulse feature at various pulse duty %'s with the balance set at the min 20%EP(80%EN), and see how the "cleaning etch width" on aluminum reacts. ...see if you can make the cathodic etch cleaning width completely disappear.

If it is the chip with the most leads, it probably is. That board sure has a whole lot more SMDs than the 250.

Are the bright spots in the 7 segment displays that noticable in real life or is it just the camera?
Penncrest Buzzbox - Infinite amp control! Man the 70's were good.
Everlast Powerplasma 60 - Reliable unit, cuts well.
Everlast i-MIG 250P w/spoolgun - Really smooth, plenty of cajones.
Everlast 250EXT - Sometimes it just takes a kick in the balls...
Everlast 255EXT - Just started playing

  7. Smile Hello -expecting new 2018 255 EXT soon

Hello I am new to Everlast welders. I have used/owned Millers,Lincolns, Hobarts stick/tig and mig welders. I have purchased a 2018 255 EXT. I am curious if the circuit boards on the new 255 EXT units looks as well as the ones in the pictured here in this post. I know this is an older post but hopping someone could enlighten me.

As someone else stated here the circuitry looks to be high quality. This is a European version but should have same build quality correct?

As far as the sales go Alex and Alexandra @ Everlast sales have treated me well so far and I was upgraded to the Nova pedal and larger water cooled torch for no extra cost. Just waiting to see the unit itself and find out for myself what its truly made of.

I went with the 255 EXT as I do work on everything from small projects using 16 gauge to projects using 1/2 inch steel so I didn't want to be under powered amperage wise. I am also considering a plasma cutter from Everlast in the near future.

Anyway, any experiences or if anyone has any feedback on this older 210 EXT and its insides and how it compares to the newer insides of the latest 255 EXT that I am expecting to arrive soon would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

I am sorry if it seemed that i came off being somewhat antaganistic , just put it down to the type of day it was,
By usuall chanells i simply mean some personell have been bypassed in favour of using a outside source that we and actually most people have a lot of respect for we thought this would be a great help in ensuring we have what Todd currently has today .
As for Todd getting one of the models that arrived yesterday i am in complete agreement with this. In addition i would like to see even more involvement from Todd with this unit .
I for one hope to see more from Todd in the upcoming weeks as he is i believe well versed in all aspects of his trade , and even though i have only spent a short time talking to him i can see he knows what he is talking about .
There are still some details to take care of and as Todd has mentioned the unit came to him with no Accesories or at least not all. The torch mentioned may not necessarily be the final option and we still need to get a few other bits and pieces together
    Cheers

Now you are just speculating on this Zoama and this is how rumours get started , first one post and then someone else posts up and the next thing you know the Queen even had a hand in working on it.

Actually Oleg is discussing possibly seeing if Todd might be possibly agree to doing some Videos for us.

Yeah I'm just speculating, but Jody is a "very competent and well known personality" who sells lots of Everlast welders through his videos.

I think they should send a 250 EXT to Jody to try out. I hope the issues are sorted out soon, too bad the other fourm is closed.

I dunno, I see 3 Hobarts, a Miller and something on the left that might have green sides. The panel almost looks right, but I'm just not getting a clear enough view. The torch is not the same as Todd's either.
