    If you are use to using a Miller with fan on demand, the constant fan noise it is a change at first. I do not desire the fan to be on all the time but the initial irritation has gone away for myself and I do not even notice it is on much when I start welding.

    I remember I was doing little tack welds once without my helmet, just blinking my eyes shut and firing a brief high-amp arc, to make small tack welds. I did do quite a few of them - 20-40 or so and high amps (but brief.) I ended up sunburning my face on that!

    After that painful experience, I haven't skipped out on the helmet (even for just those really quick tack welds.)

    My super200P has its fan on all the time with the power on, but it's a pretty mellow noise. Really moves the air through the vents too...
