Thread: Welding Tables

This is my current table, I'm going to have to build a smaller sit down table once my power pro arrives, but for now it works great. I deal with the burning of the replaceable ply top because the convenience of being able to jig up my designs and go to town in a production capacity. I usually use it to tack everything up, weld what I can without burning, and then removing it from my stapled down jig blocks to finish up. My background is from theater and that's the way I learned to jig up giant 40'x12' scenery pieces. All mig up to this point, but I can't wait to get some seat time with the power proClick image for larger version.

    Here's mine. Didn't need anything too big - light frame with 28 x 34, 3/8" top.

Those magnets can mess with the tig arc. Put a piece of metal on top on the magnet and try to weld near it.

Yeah, I use them to position pieces on the table, but not near the welds. I have enough problems getting the arc to go where I want as it is.

You guys would laugh at mine. I just bought a cheap Harbor Freight Tool cart and mounted the top upside down and dropped some 1/4" plate on it.
