    Default Hello hello!

    Hello everyone!
Ok, this is my intro post.
I am an artist/craftsman located in Northern New Jersey. Currently I am a studio technician for a University, in charge of maintaining the Jewelry Sculpture and 3D equipment and studios. At the same time, I am continuing my studies, pursuing a masters degree in sculpture and furniture making. You will probably see some weird projects and unconventional methods in my posts. My attention to detail is bordering on o/c, but I like to have fun, so to lighten things up I bring humor into my work. I am also very interested in tools and tool making. I take pride in myself by working with tools I have made. I still have a lot to learn, but so far, so good!

My projects range from jewelry to sculpture to furniture. The techniques used are welding, hot/cold forging, woodworking, and sculpting/moldmaking/casting.
When I weld, I primarily Mig weld, which is what brought me to this site. I am in the need for an ac/dc Tig welder, for better finished welds, and the ability to weld all metals.

I will hopefully be acquiring a Tig welder in the next few months (I'm leaning towards one of Everlast's 200 level multi-process machines), so I look forward to the resources found within Everlast's website.

I will be posting pictures of my current work within the day. Any feedback is much appreciated!

    Talk to you soon,

    d.fisher

Welcome, d.fisher! Just curious, what part of NJ? I followed my job to Wayne, NJ (left in 2000 to follow a different job to VA), we might have been neighbors.

A forge worker, huh? We've got someone on here that showed how to make a forge just a few days back.

    No problem.

After you see those videos, you'll probably come back and ask why I ever posted anything about them on here.
